Hey! Hope everyone's having a great week 🫶🏽. This week I am going to be talking about...
Superstition
We all have different opinions on this topic as some may believe it's true, but in the words of others it is described as bogus. The number 13 (except for Taylor Swift obviously), walking under a ladder and the sightings of black cats are viewed as unlucky. But realistically how true is this statement? Factually speaking there is no science that proves that superstition is real as the outcome of something is dependent on factors that are known, not unexplainable. Superstition can be described as a trick of the mind and actually be anxiety reducing or anxiety inducing, leading to failure to perform a task or a successful run. Even professional athletes have rituals that they claim make them luckier and more likely to win a game. However, it's the quality and quantity of practice that actually will help them win a game. So the next time you are desperately trying to find a piece of wood to knock on, remember it's all in your head.
